Have you seen the Blaeberry bumblebee?
We’re asking for help from hillwalkers and mountaineers to record the blaeberry/mountain bumblebee. We know they are accomplished ‘Munro-baggers’, occurring higher than any other UK bumblebee, but where specifically do they occur, just how widespread are they, and can we learn more about their specialist requirements? So how do I get started? You need to first look at the monticola identification guide and then save a copy of the recording form (.doc or .rtf) to your computer - please fill this in electronically and email it back to us. The form has scope for a range of information, but just the basics of ‘where’ and ‘when’ (including a grid reference) are fine too - as much as you can manage. Please remember that we are also very interested where you DO NOT encounter the Mountain Bumblebee during your time outdoors. |

If you have any further questions about the project, please email Christiane Nitsch at BBCT. Thank you very much for participating in this survey and for all your time and dedication to the conservation of our native bumblebees. With best wishes and happy recording! Chrissie |
