Bumblebee Identification Workshops led by volunteer Maggie Frankum who will take you on an exotic journey through the University of Leicester’s Botanic Garden to learn more about bumblebees and the flowers they visit.
It is a basic practical hands-on search for local bumblebees foraging around the flower borders in the Botanic Garden. Learn to catch and identify them and find out about their lives and the plants that they need!

Please wear clothing suitable for the weather conditions. Bumblebee Conservation Trust identification charts are available to use, as are plastic magnification cubes for catching bumbles [no nets]; A notebook and pencil to jot down observations. Bring along a camera if you want to take “memory jog” pics.
