Date Saturday 29th June
Time 10.00am for a 10.30am start. Finish around 3.30pm
Location Keiss Hall, followed by an afternoon field visit to the harbour
This course will teach you how to identify most of the bumblebee species found in Caithness. The morning indoor session will cover bumblebee ecology, lifecycle and conservation, and will be followed by an afternoon field practice session in the flower-rich harbour where you will gain confidence in how to safely catch and identify bumblebees. No previous experience necessary. This is a free event; however, if you are able, a suggested donation of £10 would help us in our conservation work in Scotland.
What will you need: a lunch and suitable shoes for a short walk. If you have a hand lens, net or ID guide then do bring them along, although these will be available to borrow on the day.
Advance booking is required using our online booking form.
