Bee inspired

Bee Inspired is our inspirational and innovative volunteering project set in the heart of Walsall. The project has been designed to revolutionise volunteering for the Trust.

The Trust already has an excellent network of volunteers across the UK.

Our Bee Inspired – Walsall project is a ‘pilot’ scheme for our nation-wide Bumblebee Volunteering Hub model in the West Midlands, testing ways to engage volunteers from communities who are less likely to get involved in conservation and in turn reach a new audience to take action for bumblebees.

The project aims to work with charities and organisations across the West Midlands to encourage them to become Bumblebee Champions and inspire their family, friends, neighbours and communities to take their own positive micro-actions for bumblebees including increasing the number of flowering plants throughout the community.

Our vision for Walsall is a hub for bumblebee conservation where everyone will have the opportunity to discover the joy of bumblebees through volunteering opportunities.

The project will have a positive impact for bumblebees and provide people with the confidence to support bumblebees and nature in their community. We hope people will be inspired to champion bumblebees and help them thrive.

Funding

National Lottery Heritage Fund thanks to National Lottery players and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
