If you appreciate everything that bumblebees do for us and our environment, why not take action for bumblebees by fundraising, and take on a Pollin8 challenge!
Pollin8 is your chance to get creative and make a real buzz for bumblebees! It’s a series of flexible fundraising challenges that you can shape to fit your lifestyle and showcase your own unique talents.
The idea? Base your challenge around the number eight – inspired by the UK’s Big 8 bumblebees. You could Navig8 eight peaks in eight weeks, Celebr8 bumblebees with a buzzing bake sale, or Crea8 by knitting all eight species and selling at a craft stall.

Run, walk, or wheel for bumblebees!
Is being outdoors your thing?
If so, why not take on a sponsored walk, run, wheel or swim – and make it truly yours!
Set a limit that suits you. You could stroll a mile every day for 8 days, pedal your exercise bike for 8 miles in a week, or go big and take the plunge by swimming in a loch 8 times this year.
It’s your challenge, your way, and whatever distance, frequency, or location you choose, you can bet your friends, family, and loved ones will be cheering you on every step (or splash) of the way!
Want to stand out? Why not create a buzz – literally – by dressing up as a bumblebee while you take on your challenge?
Host a Pollin8 picnic
Host your own Pollin8 picnic and celebrate the amazing work of bumblebees by enjoying delicious foods they help to pollinate!
Bake, make, or shop buy (we won’t tell) some delicious dishes and invite your friends or family to join you. You could gather in a local park or at the bottom of your garden! Or why not host a Pollin8 picnic at your workplace and invite colleagues to bring a dish each to share on your lunch break.
We’ll provide you with recipe cards and some fun games to play to help you Celebr8! We’ll also send you a donation box to print at home so you can collect those vital donations whilst you enjoy your picnic!
Organise a plant sale
What about sponsored garden work?
You could offer to do 8 gardening jobs for your neighbours, friends, or family in exchange for donations! Whether it’s planting flowers, mowing lawns, or creating bumblebee-friendly spaces, every task helps raise funds for bumblebee conservation.
Your could even get a team of local gardening enthusiasts together. We have lots of gardening resources to make sure that the work that you do has a positive impact on your local bumblebees!
Or, you could organise a seed or plant sale with your friends, neighbours, or local community group. Not only will you be raising vital donations, but you’ll also be spreading awareness and helping more people create spaces for pollinators to thrive!
Get crafting for bumblebees
Are you a crafting superstar?
Whether it’s painting, knitting, crocheting, sculpting, sewing, baking, illustrating, there are endless ways to use your creativity to help bumblebees.
How about crafting a collection of bumblebee-inspired items (like adorable crochet bumblebees) and sell them to raise funds. If you’re into illustration or printing, your work could even be shared digitally! You could even commit to illustrating all of our Big 8 bumblebees!
Want to do even more for bumblebees? Rally other crafters and create a group masterpiece, or why not host your own craft sale and donate the proceeds.
Host a buzzing event
Prefer an online challenge?
If you’re a gamer, streamer, or content creator, this could be perfect for you! Use your skills to help protect these vital pollinators while doing what you love!
Set your own challenge. Whether you take part in a 24 hour stream (one hour for every bumblebee species), do an 8-game challenge, or host a live online quiz with bumblebee-themed questions (we can help with that!), you can raise awareness and donations for bumblebee conservation.

Wear stripes for bumblebees!
Do you love dressing up?
Why not bring the buzz to your school, office, or community by dressing up as bumblebees! It could be as simple as donating a pound and wearing stripes for the day, or go all out with wings and antennae!
Got a summer event like a Highland Games or Summer Fete in your area? Add even more fun to the festivities by offering face painting in return for a donation – turn friends and neighbours into bumblebees or wildflowers!
Once you’ve registered we can share even more ideas to help you Educ8, raise vital funds, and spread some joy whilst doing it!
