We are an independent charity, who rely on the generosity of individuals to support our work to ‘save the sound of summer’. We work hard to create and restore habitats and to encourage bee-friendly gardening that our wild pollinators need to survive. Pollination is vital for many of the nation’s wild and garden plants and provides animals with a source of food and shelter. Without bumblebees, we would have less colour, less beauty, less healthy and nutritious food. The health benefits from experiencing nature would be lost too.
A gift to us helps achieve our vision of a world where bumblebees are thriving and valued. Help with our mission to increase the number and distribution of bumblebees. Here are some examples of how we use your donations:
– £100 pays for a bumblebee presentation and activity session at a primary school.
– £250 covers the cost of a seed vacuum to harvest local seed for transplanting in a nearby field.
– £550 helps towards local sourcing of ‘Green Hay’ which can be spread on a nearby field and has the advantages of providing fresh, native, species-rich wildflower seeds.
– £1,000 for two bumblebee identification training days for volunteers so that we can better understand where the bumblebees are (and where they are not!)
You can choose to make a one-off donation or spread the cost of your support using a regular Direct Debit. Reliable regular income allows the Trust to plan ahead and is an incredibly cost-effective way of achieving more and for our bumblebees.
You can also buy from our business supporters. Make a difference with every purchase. From plant-based soaps to seed bombs, tea towels and insurance, there’s a gift for everyone so you can say it with love from the bumblebees. Click here to shop.
